For two decades, my team at Buffalo ReUse and ReUse Action has focused on creating economic activity from our waste stream. We've created new job opportunities, opened reuse stores, trained young people, and strengthened neighborhoods.
That being said, we're just scratching the surface of possibilities. The circular economy holds tremendous potential, particularly here in Buffalo, to stimulate new micro-enterprise, to reduce municipal trash disposal expenses, and to pioneer new innovations to will protect our local environment.
When I say my adminstration will focus on turning liabilities into assets, this is one example of how we do it. Innovative solutions to reclaim materials, reduce costs, and support local business.
