I’m not running to start a career in politics. I’m running for a purpose. I’m running to change the culture at City Hall; to strengthen and improve our neighborhoods; to engage communities and elevate leaders; and to forge a new vision and direction for Buffalo.

Our sign captures this spirit! Thank you to the artist, my friend Dan Galas, for capturing the vision and hopefulness of our campaign.

The Sunflowers represent the resilience of our City, of our people! For the past two years, we’ve been planting Sunflower fields on Jefferson Avenue. Sunflowers are hearty, resilient flowers. They can grow in almost any soil and their presence improves and enriches the soil. Their presence also brings joy and hopefulness. Sunflowers represent the resilience of our people and our hope things will be better for our communities, for our families.

The fist represents how we accomplish change! Through action, community engagement, and initiative. Our campaign believes in the capacity of our people, the power of showing up and just starting, and our potential for healthful, vibrant, and inspiring communities.

This campaign and our effort to strengthen and improve Buffalo is bigger than just one person. I can’t accomplish any of this alone. It has to be a shared vision and a concerted effort. Not me, we! A shared goal, a shared vision — for us!
